GRANDDAUGHTERS ARE DIFFERENT

Yesterday Jim and I went down to surprise Lori, my daughter-in-law, on her birthday. We did indeed surprise them and had a great time. Matilda (Miranda) continues to display loads of affection for me which puzzles me no end because she hardly ever sees me. (Maybe this is why she does) I have only experienced grandsons before so maybe this is how granddaughters work. At any rate it is most cherished and enjoyed. She is a sweetheart.

Here are some pictures of the occasion.

This is when we first arrived and she was anticipating her first kiss.

Cute little button nose.

Her beautiful Mom with the cake that Jim made.

Mmmm. Tastes pretty good!

Miranda doesn't like sweets, but she got a few crumbs off of the spatula and I think she may change her mind soon.
I also thought you might like to see my garden this year. I think it is beautiful.

Your grandchild, Miranda is beautiful, Bernie...I bet you looked like her when you were a child, I can see some of her cute little features on your face.

I have mostly grandsons too, 6 of them and only 3 granddaughters and one of them has a birthday tomorrow.

You also have a wonderful garden of flowers to enjoy this summer, Bernie...take care!

After raising 4 boys we're blessed with 6 granddaughters and 3 grandsons....I have a special bond with one of my granddaughters that is just different than with the others..don't know why, we just have always clicked and she too doesn't live as close by as the others. Your garden is lovely! Don't you just enjoy the colors? Your Granddaughter is a cutie pie too! Glad you had a fun time.

It appears that I'll never experience the joy of a granddaughter, so I'll have to vicariously share it with everyone else! Your's is a cutie, for sure! And your garden has some beauties, as well! I noticed your white lily - ours are exceptionally beautiful this year, though I don't have a white one.

Gorgeous grand daughter - hope she stays off the sugar and beautiful garden. Just for you I added a post today at Scrubby Bush that links to my elephant story - sit down when you read it. Best wishes to you.

Hi Bernie,
What a precious child - most discerning, too, since she obviously dotes on you! Your garden looks lovely and well-kept.

I read your comment, maybe the translator has a problem, I'll try to understand what's wrong... I can visualize it on the top of right column, but there is the possibility it doesn't work with other browsers. I'm sorry! But I'm glad that you've enjoyed the pictures.
It's a sunny day in Italy, I hope there is sun there too! Best wishes, Giada
